Announcement!
After a brief hiatus The Newspapers, the Journal of the Sherlockians of Baltimore will be returning next year, so a call for papers is now enjoined. J.C. O'Leary will take submissions. Contact Greg Ruby and he will connect you to him. One need not be a Certified SOB (Sherlockian of Baltimore) to submit papers, but we know that there are many out there who are SOBs in spirit - if not in deed.

Outing at the Fells Point Corner Theatre – Miss Holmes Returns
On the heels of the wildly successful run of FPCT’s Baltimore Premiere of Miss Holmes in 2024, they are thrilled to bring back original cast members, Sharon Maguire and Emma Grace Dunbar as the classic duo-with-a-twist, Miss Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Dorothy Watson! In this stunning sequel to the original Miss Holmes, which saw Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic characters reinvented as women in a Victorian-era England that was not ready for them to take on “men’s work,” Holmes and Watson have been playing the game for several years and have gained quite a reputation. So, when a nurse and activist finds herself on the run, wanted for murder, and threatened by sinister figures from the shadowy criminal underworld, she turns to Miss Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Dorothy Watson for help.
Miss Holmes Returns explores feminist themes using the classic mystery characters, settings and tropes created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to explore the added challenges and risks faced by these iconic characters if they were women. Director and FPCT Managing Director, Brad Norris, returns as well to build an even bigger and more thrilling world for Holmes and Watson to be mischievous and solve crimes in.

An after program presentation is being planned for local Sherlockians, either a Meet and Greet or a talkback with the director. A dutch-treat dinner at a nearby restaurant will probably be arranged for afterwards. To reserve your tickets, please reach out to SherlockiansOfBaltimore@gmail.com.

Late Spring 2026
Great Sherlockian Whimsical Tour of Maryland

Inspired by the Crew of the Barque Lone Star in Dallas whimsical tours in 2001 and 2025 of Sherlockian-tinted sites in the southwestern United States, we are bringing the concept to the
Free State!
Possible destinations could include:
Childhood home of Christopher Morley, founder of the BSI
Johns Hopkins University
Site of the first Six Napoleons dinner meeting
Edgar Allan Poe’s grave site
USS Torsk
Lighthouses (we have nearly 20 to choose from)
Site of the former Hotel Altamont
A Seafood Restaurant (SPODE) - to save the world from oysters
Waffle House (satisfying 221st Southumberland Waffleers criteria)
Cambridge or Oxford
Baker Street
Accident
Muddy Creek Falls
Any other possible suggestions are welcomed!
Destinations subject to change as we finalize the details.
The original 2001 trip by the Dallas group chartered a large van with a driver, while the 2025 version had individuals driving their own cars. We are open to either method for our adventure.
We are anticipating doing this in the late Spring, April or May of 2026 over a weekend, possibly both days. Lodging will be decided while on the trip and will be the responsibility of each individual.
If interested in joining the fun, please drop a note to SherlockiansOfBaltimore@gmail.com. We are not looking for firm commitments at this time, just that you are interested in this trip

Scott Monty, BSI
Scott Monty is a member of the Baker Street Irregulars and co-host of the podcasts I Hear of Sherlock Everywhere. Scott's interest in Sherlock Holmes began in his teenage years, during which he discovered his first Sherlockian society, The Men on the Tor in Connecticut.
That early inspiration would have echoes throughout his life. Not only did he parlay his unhealthy obsession with Sherlock Holmes into a blog and podcasts, but the social networking element would rear its head again when he was named Ford Motor Company's first executive responsible for digital communications and social media.
Scott has since seen the light and now serves as a public speaker and executive coach serving leaders and their teams to help them prepare for leadership in a world dominated by A.I. Professionally, he writes the Timeless & Timely newsletter and hosts the Timeless Leadership podcast. He lives in Michigan, where he is an executive coach and public speaker, specializing in leadership and communication.
